@yogeek: I’m getting them to, …
@yogeek: I’m getting them to, but randomly.

Looks like we had a power failure while we were out. Have to start this server build from scratch.
Luckily nothing lost. It was a bog standard install with no customizations, only got through the first disk.
The UPS doesn’t last very long with one desktop and two rack mount servers connected to it. Pretty small UPS to begin with. (The rack mounts belong to work. Borrowed for lab / testing / educational purposes.)

Tip kids: don’t start downloading a Linux CD ISO on your 1.5Mbps DSL connection and expect to actually do anything else online.
I am so spoiled at work.

Heading home while 100K+ files download to my server for testing.

Trying to figure out Cerberus views and why some users can’t see all tickets in their queues.

Wishing I’d started this ‘buildworld’ in a screen session.

Wouldn’t you know it, just as I plan to head for bed, the stuffy nose comes back. This does not bode well for getting a good night’s sleep before starting my new job.

Falling asleep @ keyboard. Time for bed. Early day tomorrow.

Just finished dinner with Kestrell. Going to play some WoW, then bed.

OK, I keep seeing @username in the posts of people I’m following. Obviously replys. How does one “reply” to a tweet?

Looks like all the problems with my WP blog cross posting between Twitter and LJ were NOT the fault of Twitter or the twitter plugin.
As soon as I deactivated the INAP plugin (see “Test Post“), not only did the blank page after Publish problem go away, but now the full text of my tweets are correctly crossposted to LJ.

Just testing if my “fix” to No Self Pings worked.
Edit: OK, I don’t get the blank page after clicking “save” or “publish” now. Looking good.
If it’s really fixed, the following link should NOT show up as a “ping” to my own blog: Previous No Self Ping post.
Nope. Still completely borked. It’s not pinging itself, but it’s giving me the blank page again. I’m just disabling the plugin for now.
Edit: Aaand with the plugin disabled, it’s still borked. But I’m also getting an error message in the log regarding the INAP plugin. Maybe that’s the culprit. I’m disabling that now.
Edit: Yup. Looks like INAP was the culprit.

Looks like it’s actually the “No Self Pings” plugin that’s causing post.php to return a blank page.
[Sun Apr 22 13:50:17 2007] [error] [client 72.232.129.134] PHP Warning: Missing argument 2 for no_self_ping() in /home/pure-chaos.com/domains/blogs.pure-chaos.com/public_html/andrew/wp-content/plugins/no-self-ping/no-self-pings.php on line 13

OK, I’m must turning off the Twitter cross posting plugin. It’s just creating more problems than it’s worth. If I make any change to an existing post (correct a typo, for instance) it gets posted as a new tweet. The WP admin page loads to a completely blank window when I click save, I’m guessing it’s having trouble reaching twitter.com and hanging.
It was an interesting experiment, and I may play around with it more later, but right now it just isn’t making for a very coherent blog.
Not that I’m posting much important in the blog at this point anyway.
*EDIT: Well, it seems twitter has nothing to do with post.php loading to a blank page. I’ll have to poke at it more.
Apr 22 2007
Crap. I guess I’m going to have to figure out how to set this thing up so updates from Twitter don’t get crossposted to LJ, since what ends up on LJ makes no sense.

I hate random foreign language ICQ messages that pop up in the middle of a battle on WoW.
